Teaching Teachers designs and delivers transformative professional development for K–12 educators at every stage of their career. From half-day workshops to multi-session cohort experiences, our PD goes beyond tips and strategies, instead it grounds teachers in who they are, what this profession demands, and what the students in front of them deserve. Every session is rooted in Black educational thought, African American education history, and evidence-based instructional practice.
Modalities: Keynote, Half-Day Workshop, Full-Day Workshop, Multi-Session Cohort Series, Virtual or In-Person
-
We specialize in developing aspiring teachers before they ever enter a classroom. Drawing on our work with university-based Grow Your Own programs and career and technical education pathways, Teaching Teachers helps high school and college-level future educators build the professional identity, historical grounding, and pedagogical foundation that traditional preparation programs rarely provide. If your district or organization is building a teacher pipeline, we are the professional learning partner for that work.
Modalities: Cohort Series, Curriculum Module, Workshop Series, Fellowship Support, In-Person or Virtual
-
Teaching Teachers develops culturally sustaining, research-backed curriculum grounded in African American education history, Black educational thought, and teacher identity formation. We design standalone instructional units, full course modules, and embedded content for existing programs that is built for the educators who will teach it and the students who will experience it.
Modalities: Standalone Unit Design, Full Course Module, Program-Embedded Curriculum, Virtual or In-Person Delivery
-
For districts and schools ready to invest in systemic professional learning culture, Teaching Teachers offers embedded, year-long partnership programming. We work alongside school and district leadership to design a responsive professional learning experience that meets your educators where they are and moves them toward where your students need them to be. This is not a one-time workshop. This is a sustained investment in the people who make your school work.
Modalities: Year-Long School Partnership, Multi-School District Initiative, Quarterly Check-Ins, Embedded Professional Learning, Virtual or In-Person
-
Teaching Teachers facilitates ongoing virtual PLCs for educator cohorts, school teams, and organizational fellows to provide a consistent, identity-centered space for professional reflection, peer learning, and instructional growth across the school year. Our PLCs are not meetings. They are communities of practice, grounded in scholarship and facilitated by a practitioner who has done this work in schools, universities, and community organizations.
Modalities: Bi-Weekly or Monthly Virtual Sessions, Cohort-Based, Open to School Teams or Organizational Fellows
-
Teaching Teachers works with education-adjacent organizations (nonprofits, philanthropies, teacher pipeline programs, and community organizations) to align their programming with the professional learning needs of educators. Whether you are launching a new initiative, expanding into a new market, or looking to deepen the impact of existing work, Teaching Teachers brings the research, the relationships, and the strategic vision to move that work forward.
Modalities: Strategic Consultation, Program Design Support, Partnership Development, Conference Facilitation, Keynote
-
Our consultants are engaging, research-grounded speakers whose work sits at the intersection of Black educational history, teacher identity, and the future of the profession. Whether you need a keynote that opens a convening with intention, a breakout session that challenges and inspires, or a closing that sends your audience back to their schools differently, Teaching Teachers delivers.
Modalities: Keynote, Breakout Session, Panel Facilitation, Conference Workshop, Virtual or In-Person

District Partnerships
Teacher attrition is not a recruitment problem, we look at it as a development problem. When teachers feel unseen, underprepared, and disconnected from the communities they serve, they leave. Teaching Teachers LLC partners directly with schools and districts to address the root causes of that attrition by cultivating teachers who are grounded in their professional identity, skilled in their instructional practice, and deeply connected to the students and communities in front of them. Our work is not a one-day workshop. It is a sustained, framework-driven professional learning partnership designed to produce the kind of teachers who stay in your building, lead your instructional culture, and change outcomes for students long after the program ends.
Whether you are a principal looking to develop your staff as a cohesive instructional team or a superintendent ready to build a district-wide culture of teacher excellence, Teaching Teachers LLC has a partnership model designed for your context and your goals. Every offering we bring to your school or district is grounded in original scholarship, aligned to Michigan certification needs, and built around one non-negotiable outcome, teachers who are ready, rooted, and retained.

What People Are Saying About Our Sessions
-
"There is a sense of urgency woven throughout each session, while still creating space for reflection, learning, and meaningful consideration. Teaching Teachers is addressing complex and important topics with a level of brevity that does not diminish their depth. Instead, the structure allows participants to engage, process, and walk away with practical insights and new ways of thinking. The balance between content, reflection, and application is incredibly well done. Great job and I look forward to more!"
— Dr. Michelle L Cureton, Dean of Students
-
"Today’s session has reignited my passion for social justice within education! The content taught me more about myself which in turn will help me think deeper about my students identities. It's also more pointed towards the big picture that will improve educational systems."
— Faith Darnell, Math Teacher
-
"What stands out to me about Teaching Teachers is that it's practical and relevant to what actually happens in the classroom every day. Instead of sitting through professional development that's mostly theory, I walk away with strategies and cultural relevance I can use right away with my students. I also like that it's collaborative and it gives teachers the opportunity to learn from one another, reflect on what's working, and grow together. It feels less like a one-time training and more like ongoing support that helps me become a stronger educator while keeping student success at the center of everything."
— Akilah Ali, Special Education Educator
