Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Teaching Teachers LLC and our Summer 2026 Professional Development Series.
About the Program
What is the Teaching Teachers LLC Summer 2026 Professional Development Series? It is a six-week live virtual professional development experience for K–12 educators covering three core areas — the history of the teaching profession and teacher identity development, standards-based lesson planning and data-driven instruction, and classroom engagement and restorative practices. Sessions are 90 minutes each, held once a week on Zoom, and are designed to be practical, engaging, and immediately applicable in your classroom.
Who is this series for? The series is open to all K–12 classroom teachers. We have a particular focus on new and early-career educators and teachers working in urban schools, but any teacher who is ready to invest in their practice and their identity as an educator is welcomed!
How many sessions are there? There are six live sessions total — two sessions per topic area over the course of six weeks.
How long is each session? Each session is 90 minutes long.
Is this synchronous or asynchronous? The series is live and synchronous — sessions take place in real time on Zoom. Full live participation is strongly encouraged because the experience is built around dialogue, reflection, and community. That said all sessions are recorded and shared with registered participants within 24 hours in case you need to review or catch up.
What platform do you use? All sessions are held on Zoom. You will receive a link upon registration.
What is the cohort size? We intentionally keep cohorts small to ensure every participant gets a meaningful, personalized experience. Cohort sizes are capped to maintain quality — register early to secure your spot.
Registration & Payment
How do I register? Click the Register Now button on our Programs or Offerings page and complete your purchase directly through our website. You will receive a confirmation email with your session details shortly after.
What are the individual registration prices? Early bird registration is $347 for the first five registrants. General admission is $497. Early bird pricing closes automatically once five seats are filled so act fast.
Is a payment plan available? Yes — we offer a two-part payment plan at no extra charge. Contact us at business@teachingteachersllc.com before registering and we will set it up for you.
Can I get a refund? All sales are final after Session 1 has occurred. If you need to cancel before Session 1 begins please contact us as soon as possible. Transfers to a future cohort are available up to 48 hours before Session 1 at no charge subject to availability.
Can my school or district pay for me? Absolutely — we offer group rates for schools and districts and can issue a formal invoice with Net 30 payment terms. Contact us at business@teachingteachersllc.com to request a group invoice and we will take it from there.
What are the group rates? We offer four group tiers — Small Group up to 5 teachers at $1,500, Department or Team of 6–10 teachers at $2,500, Whole Staff or Large Group of 11–20 teachers at $4,000, and District Partnerships for 21 or more teachers starting at $7,500. Visit our Offerings page for full details on what each tier includes.
Can I use Title I or professional development funds to pay? Yes — many participants use campus or district professional development budgets to cover the cost. We can provide a formal invoice, a program description, and any documentation your school or district requires to process payment. Contact us at business@teachingteachersllc.com for assistance.
SCECHs & Continuing Education
Do participants earn SCECHs? Yes — Teaching Teachers LLC partners with an approved SCECH sponsor to offer State Continuing Education Clock Hours to Michigan teacher participants. Each cohort equals 9 clock hours which can be applied toward Michigan teacher certificate renewal.
How do I receive my SCECHs? Upon completion of all six sessions Teaching Teachers LLC will issue your certificate of completion and coordinate with our approved SCECH sponsor to upload your clock hours directly into MOECS. You do not need to do anything extra — we handle it for you.
What if I miss a session — do I still get my SCECHs? Full SCECH credit requires attendance at all six sessions. If you miss a session you may watch the recording and submit a brief reflection to fulfill the attendance requirement. Please contact us at business@teachingteachersllc.com if you have concerns about attendance.
Are SCECHs available for teachers outside of Michigan? Our current SCECH sponsorship covers Michigan teacher certification. If you are a Texas educator we are actively working on a CPE hour partnership and will update registrants as that becomes available. Teachers in other states should check with their state certification office about whether out-of-state clock hours apply to their renewal requirement

What is The Teaching Teachers Review? The Teaching Teachers Review is a practitioner publication produced by Teaching Teachers LLC — written by teachers, for teachers. Volume 1, Issue 1 — The Foundations Edition — launches Summer 2026 with weekly articles published throughout the summer and a complete compiled edition released at the end of the season.
Can I submit an article? Yes — we are currently accepting pitches and submissions for our inaugural Summer 2026 edition. Visit The Teaching Teachers Review page on our website for full contributor guidelines and submission instructions.

General Questions
Who leads the sessions? All sessions are facilitated by Travon J. Jefferson, M.Ed., M.A.T. — Founder and Principal Consultant of Teaching Teachers LLC, doctoral candidate in Curriculum, Instruction and Teacher Education at Michigan State University, former Houston classroom teacher, and Teach Plus Policy Fellow. Visit our About page to read his full bio.
What makes Teaching Teachers LLC different from other professional development? Most professional development treats teachers as recipients of information. We treat teachers as intellectuals, practitioners, and scholars. Our programming is grounded in three proprietary frameworks — The BES Teacher Preparation Framework, The Grounded Teacher Model, and The Liberation to Practice Continuum — that connect historical and theoretical foundations directly to daily classroom practice. We go deep, we stay practical, and we build community in the process.
How do I contact Teaching Teachers LLC? Reach us anytime at business@teachingteachersllc.com. We respond to all inquiries within 48 business hours.
Will there be future cohorts? Yes — we are planning a Fall 2026 cohort and a Spring 2027 cohort. Join our waitlist or newsletter to be the first to know when registration opens.
